The Economic Research Service (ERS) provides quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on food security issues in developing countries. The research focuses on food security measurement and the key factors affecting food production and household access.
The annual ERS International Food Security Assessment is the only USDA report to provide a 10-year projection of food security indicators for 83 low- and middle-income countries. This report presents results from ERS’s International Food Security Assessment (IFSA) analysis. IFSA is a demand-driven framework, which utilizes information on domestic prices and consumer responsiveness to changes in prices and incomes for 83 low- and middle-income countries.
