New sections of this edition explore changes in direct sales, pandemic-related off-farm job loss and furloughs, farm operating expenses, and the distribution of USDA and non-USDA pandemic assistance received in 2020.

Errata: On January 10, 2022, the Federal crop insurance figure on page 27 was revised to correct “All family farms” to “Nonfamily farms.” No other figures were impacted.
