U.S. agricultural output, inputs, and total factor productivity, 1948–2021

Total U.S. agricultural output increased at an annual rate of 1.46 percent in the past seven decades as the growth rate of inputs decreased, resulting from a higher rate of productivity in which farmers were able to produce more with less.
