Timothy Ruth is an agricultural economist in the Market and Trade Economics Division. His responsibilities include project management, contracting, oversight of the Commodity Specific Database, and improvement of outlook and baseline processes.
Background
Timothy joined the Economics Research Service in 2020. Previously, he served as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy, holding roles as operations officer and anti-submarine warfare officer. Post-Navy, Timothy worked at the Pentagon as a program, focusing on budgetary allocations for the Zumwalt class ships. Soon after, he oversaw research and development projects with General Dynamics—and was then a lead project manager with Ingalls Shipbuilding, managing multi-million-dollar projects and resources.
Education
Timothy received his B.S. in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a certified project manager professional.
