An Assessment of Product Turnover in the U.S. Food Industry and Effects on Nutrient Content

For 17 food and beverage categories, IRI retail store data in 2008-12 are used to describe the rates of product entries and exits in the marketplace, as well as product turnover (sum of entry rate and exit rate). The nutrient contents of entering food products are compared with those of exiting food products.
