U.S. cash receipts from farming reached $395 billion in 2012, an increase of 7 percent over 2011. California again led in cash receipts from farming (at $45 billion for 2012), followed by Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, and Minnesota (all with receipts of at least $20 billion). California ranked No. 1 in the United States for receipts of dairy, grapes, almonds, and strawberries (among others). Iowa had the highest receipts for corn, hogs and soybeans; Nebraska was No. 2 in the U.S. for receipts of cattle/calves; Texas led in cattle/calves and cotton; and Minnesota was No. 1 in sugarbeet cash receipts. These data and more are available in the ERS data product, Farm Income and Wealth Statistics, updated in August 2013.
