Overall grocery store food prices basically flat from a year ago
The food-at-home CPI for the fourth quarter of 2015 was 0.2 percent higher than the food-at-home CPI for fourth quarter 2014. Inflation for grocery store foods was lower than average, as many at-home food categories decreased in price, with pork, dairy products, and fish and seafood posting the largest decreases. Egg prices saw the largest increase, rising 22.6 percent, reflecting a decrease in supply from the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza.
