Pumping restrictions were the most common component of irrigation organization drought plans in 2019

About 20 percent of irrigation organizations surveyed by USDA in 2019 had formal, written drought plans. The most common components of those plans are protocols for how water delivery or pumping restrictions, often referred to as curtailments, would be implemented in drought conditions.
