Adoption of genetically engineered upland cotton in the United States, by trait, 2000–25. HT indicates herbicide-tolerant varieties; Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) indicates insect-resistant varieties (containing genes from the soil bacterium Bt). Stacked varieties include those with both HT and Bt traits.
