U.S. Watermelon Crop Value Increasing

									Until 2004, cantaloupe tended to be the leading melon crop in terms of crop value due to higher unit values. More recently, the value of the cantaloupe crop averaging over $300 million annually has been eclipsed by the value of watermelon production, which now averaged over $450 million.
