Both the U.S. and Mexico's direct investment position in each other's food industry has continued ti expand over the period 1999–24. After being relatively stable during the 21st century’s second decade, U.S. investment in Mexico’s food industry increased from $3.1 billion in 2021 to $6.5 billion in 2024.
