India accounted for more than one-fifth of pathogen-based refusals of U.S. food imports from 2002 to 2019

A study of U.S. Food and Drug Administration data on U.S. imported foods found that more than 22,000 pathogen and toxin violations were identified from 110,000 countries during 2002−19. India and Mexico had the most pathogen-related violations during the study period.
