Child food insufficiency continued to vary widely across racial and ethnic groups during 2022 and in the first half of 2023

As of July 10, 2023, 25.1 percent of Black, non-Hispanic households, 20.6 percent of Hispanic households, and 15.9 percent of Other, non-Hispanic households reported their children sometimes or often did not have enough to eat during the past week—compared with 14.5 percent for Asian, non-Hispanic households and 9.1 percent for White, non-Hispanic households.
