Briefly
Ralph Anhold works with the Research Support Branch in the Information Services Division at the Economic Research Service (ERS) and brings expertise in geospatial data management, procedure development, and systems interface and workflow development.
Background
Ralph joined ERS and is currently assisting in the evaluation, preparation, and implementation of methods to ensure agency compliance with the 2018 Geospatial Data Act. Prior, he worked for 21 years at Esri, a well-known Geographic Information Systems technology vendor. During that time, he had many roles, primarily educating, and demonstrating the value of Geographic Information Systems and geospatial data. He represented Esri for many years as a conference planning committee member of the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA) and chaired the 2010 committee.
Before working at Esri, Ralph was part of a ‘Resume Operations’ team at the DOE-Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons plant, and a Structural Design Engineer/Project Manager at a large food processing company. As a food process workflow designer, he was introduced to USDA-Food Safety and Inspection Service. He was licensed as a Civil Engineer and certified as a Project Management Professional while with those firms.
