Quinton Baker

Introduction

Quinton Baker is a research agricultural economist in the Food Markets Branch of the Food Economics Division in USDA’s Economic Research Service (ERS). His primary research interests include food marketing, food costs, and food system sustainability. Quinton also oversees ERS's Food Dollar Series data product, which is updated annually to answer the question, “where do our food dollars go”?

Background

Quinton joined ERS in January 2021, upon completion of his doctorate from Michigan State University. In his dissertation, he studied the work requirement for able-bodied adults without dependents to participate in USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
