Briefly

Dan Szmurlo is a research agricultural economist in the Conservation and Environment Branch of the Resource and Rural Economy Division at USDA's Economic Research Service (ERS). His research focuses on risk management as it relates to conservation programs. Prior research includes work studying development responses to Federal flood insurance policy and the determinants of FEMA post-disaster relief spending.

Education

Dan received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and B.A. degrees in economics and geography from Indiana University.
