The visualization contains time series data for fresh and processed vegetables and for dry pulse crops. Included are State harvested acres (excluding mushrooms), U.S. production, price, exports, imports, per capita availability multi-year averages, and shares of availability imported and supply exported. - Variable names are contained in the first row: VizDashboard..........(Dashboard visualization element in the Vegetables and pulses commodity highlights visualization) Year..................(Year(s) of observation) Commodity.............(Vegetable or pulse commodity type) EndUse................(Market: Canning; Chips and shoestrings; Dehydrating; Dry; Dual, fresh and processing; Freezing; Fresh; Processing) Item..................(Area harvested; Current dollars; Exports; Imports; Per capita availability; Production; Share of availability imported; Share of supply exported) Unit..................(Measurement unit: Acres; U.S. dollars per hundredweight; U.S. dollars per ton; Million pounds; Percent; Pounds) GeographicalLevel.....(Geographical level: Country or State) Location..............(Location: United States or State name) Value.................(Numeric data value) VizCommodityEndUse....(Dashboard visualization options for commodity and end use) Notes.................(Notes for the data point) Source................(Data source for the data point) - The .csv data file contains 21,461 rows of data, one data point per row, including the header row. These data are used in the Vegetables and Pulses Commodity Highlights Visualization. - Mushroom area in production is reported by USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service in square feet of mushroom fillings (growing area). For comparability with other commodities, square feet were converted to acres using 43,560 square feet per acre. To maintain consistency, area in production for mushrooms is presented as area harvested. The crops with area harvested may include crops unavailable in the USDA, Economic Research Service Vegetables and Pulses Yearbook. - All commodities are either represented on a calendar year, except for mushrooms, or a range of years. The marketing year for mushrooms runs from July 1 to June 30. The 'year' for mushrooms corresponds to the last in the marketing year. For example, 2025 data would correspond to the 2024/25 marketing year. Per capita availability is represented by a range of years, typically a 5-year range of years, unless noted otherwise. ************************************************************************* Sources: This data product combines information from USDA's Economic Research Service, and USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. ************************************************************************* The .csv file contains information from the following visualization dashboards: - Area harvested - Imports and exports - Per capita availability - Production and prices - Import and export shares
