This chart shows the shares of value added by 13 industry groups in the domestic food supply chain for producing a dollar’s worth of food in 2024. Among the largest shares of value added were food services (38.6 cents), food processing (16.1 cents), food retail (13.8 cents), and food wholesale (6.3 cents).
