  • Farm cash receipts, soybean production:
       2007: $27.0 billion
       2008: $29.5 billion
       2009: $32.1 billion
       2010: $37.6 billion
       2011: $40.2 billion (forecast)

  • U.S. soybean production:   
       2007: 2,677 million bushels
       2008: 2,967 million bushels
       2009: 3,359 million bushels
       2010: 3,329 million bushels  
       2011: 3,060 million bushels (estimated)   

  • Soybean production, top five States, 2011 (estimated):
       IA - 468 million bushels
       IL – 407 million bushels
       MN - 287 million bushels
       NE - 262 million bushels
       IN - 222 million bushels

  • U.S. soybean exports (crop year*):   
       2007: 1,159 million bushels
       2008: 1,279 million bushels
       2009: 1,499 million bushels

  • Farm price for soybeans:    
       2007 crop year average: $10.10 per bushel
       2008 crop year average:   $9.97 per bushel
       2009 crop year average:   $9.59 per bushel
       2010 crop year average: $11.30 per bushel
       2011 crop year average: $13.15 per bushel (forecast)

*Crop year begins September 1 and ends August 31.
