Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook

This monthly report, presented in a newsletter format, provides current intelligence and forecasts the effects of changing conditions in the U.S. livestock, dairy, and poultry sectors. Topics include current production, consumption, trade, prices received, and more. Periodically, special reports on specific commodity issues also are released in this series.

Outlook Newsletters

Newsletter text and forecast tables are released the middle of the month (see the 2012 calendar of releases) in Adobe AcrobatPDF file format. The forecast tables are also available in Microsoft ExcelExcel file format. Supporting tables are released approximately 2 weeks later in Excel format. The pdf files are best viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.

The Most Recent Forecast and Supporting Tables are available in Excel format.

Related Data

Commodity Yearbooks contain annual historical market data for beef, pork, lamb, dairy, and poultry.

Livestock and Meat Trade Data contains monthly and annual data for imports and exports of live cattle, hogs, sheep, and goats, as well as beef and veal, pork, lamb and mutton, chicken meat, turkey meat, and eggs. The tables report physical quantities, not dollar values or unit prices. Data on beef and veal, pork, and lamb and mutton are on a carcass-weight-equivalent basis. Breakdowns by country are included.

Retail Scanner Prices for Meat contains monthly average retail price data for selected cuts of beef, pork, poultry, lamb, and veal, based on electronic supermarket scanner data.
