Briefly:Carolyn Rogers is Assistant Director for Communications in the
Food and Rural Economics Division. Her most recent position at ERS
was associate editor for Amber Waves, with primary responsibility
for the magazine's rural content. She was also a demographer in the
Rural Economy Branch, where her research covered the social,
health, and economic well-being of the older rural/nonmetro
population, and the social and economic well-being of
rural/nonmetro children.
Background:Prior to joining ERS, Carolyn worked as a demographer at Child
Trends, Inc. and at the Census Bureau where she designed the June
supplement to the Current Population Survey. At ERS, she served as
associate editor of Rural Development Perspectives/Rural America,
magazines formerly published by the agency.
Education:Carolyn has an M.A. in sociology/demography from Brown
University.
