Former Senators Promote School Breakfast Program (USA Today, May 31, 2006)

Evaluating the Impact of School Nutrition Programs: Final Report. ERS found that children who participate in the School Breakfast Program (SBP) consume a better overall diet, consume a lower percentage of calories from fat, are less likely to have a low intake of magnesium, and are less likely to have low serum levels of vitamin C and folate. The results of this study suggest that the availability of an SBP has beneficial effects for children.

Food Safety Innovation in the United States: Evidence from the Meat Industry. Results from an ERS survey of U.S. meat and poultry slaughter and processing plants and two case studies of innovation in the U.S. beef industry reveal a number of successful mechanisms for stimulating investment in food safety and traceability.
