Farmers to Reap Record Income

"It's been a very steep and pretty unrelenting growth in production in the U.S.," said Kitty Smith, administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service, during a visit to Modesto last week…. Smith, the federal administrator, said this will require investing in research. "There's only so much land," she said, "and the demand for agricultural products of all kinds is just going through the roof."
