USDA Predicts Food Prices to Rise at Least 2% in 2011
Los Angeles Times – January 30, 2011
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service released its 2011 Consumer Price Index analysis for projections on food prices last week, and reported that overall food prices are expected to increase 2 percent to 3 percent this year.  

USDA Report Predicts Higher Grocery Prices in 2011

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service released its 2011 Consumer Price Index analysis for projections on food prices this week. Its findings: Food prices overall are going to increase 2% to 3% this year.

USDA’s Food Atlas Maps Out Americans’ Food Environment

The U.S. Department of Agriculture released yesterday an updated version of its year-old online mapping tool, which compares U.S. counties in terms of their "food environment."… The tool was developed by USDA's Economic Research Service (ERS) as part of Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative to end childhood obesity in a generation.

As part of the Let’s Move! childhood obesity initiative championed by first lady Michelle Obama, the U.S. Department of Agriculture [ERS] unveiled a Food Environment Atlas …to help communities identify food deserts. The atlas — go to www.ers.usda.gov/foodatlas — takes the issue of food access down to a county level.

No-Till Acres Keep Growing
