Loss-Adjusted Food Availability

Contents

For this series, ERS adjusts the per capita food availability data for food spoilage and other losses to more closely approximate actual per capita intake. This series provides two key per capita estimates for each commodity: the number of calories per day and the number of MyPyramid equivalents per day. For example, users can obtain loss-adjusted pounds of beef available for domestic consumption per capita per year.
