FANRP Project Descriptions—The FANRP program has an extensive portfolio of research projects covering diet and health outcomes, food program targeting and delivery, and program dynamics and administration.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program (SNAP) Data System—The SNAP Data System
provides time-series data on State and county-level estimates
of SNAP participation and benefit levels, combined with
area estimates of total population and the number of persons
in poverty. It also has an interactive web-based mapping
application that maps program participation and benefit
levels with county level detail for the States and the
Nation.
Current Population
Survey Food Security SupplementNow available
from the Census Bureau on CD-ROM and on-line via the DataFerrett
system. The CPS Food Security Supplement is a nationally
representative survey of about 50,000 U.S. households
conducted by the Census Bureau for ERS annually since
1995. The data include information on household food security,
food expenditures, use of public and private food assistance
programs, and other information on how households cope
with limited food budgets.
The
National Household Food Acquisition and Purchase Survey
(FoodAPS)—ERS's newly funded survey will provide unique
and detailed data about household food choices that are
not available in any other survey. FoodAPS is a nationally
representative survey of household food purchases and
acquisitions, including foods purchased for consumption
at home and away from home as well as foods acquired through
food and nutrition assistance programs (both public and
private).
