Farm Resource Regions—USDA's Economic Research Service constructed county-based regions that depict geographic specialization in production of U.S. farm commodities. Most ARMS data are provided by these regions.
Historic
Cost of Production Regions—Prior to 1995, State boundaries were used to delineate regions for most commodities. States were grouped according to those with similar production practice and resource characteristics. Cost and return accounts for commodities reported under the old format still use these regional definitions.
